Bring worn finishes back to life
Scratches, cup rings and water marks can make good furniture look worn long before its time. DJ Andrew & Son Wood Restoration and Finishing uses French polishing to restore depth, shine and character to all types of wood, giving the surface a richer finish and added protection. My work is shaped by 50 years of hands-on experience, so I know how to treat older pieces if necessary pieces with care.
I specialise in the restoration of furniture and wooden surfaces. that still have plenty of life left in them. French polishing is also a practical choice when light abrasion has dulled the surface over time. You get a finish that looks cared for and feels ready for everyday use again.

A careful finish for detailed woodwork
Older timber features often need a steadier hand than modern factory finishes can offer. I carry out polishing work on staircases, panelling, beams and handrails, paying close attention to the character of the wood and the condition it's already in. That matters when a handrail has lost its sheen through years of use or when wall panelling has patchy, dull areas that spoil the room.
Alongside floor restoration and wood restoration, my French polishing work is suited to surfaces that need restoration without losing the original look. DJ Andrew & Son Wood Restoration and Finishing also carries out wood finishing work when a polished surface needs the right follow-through.
